Corruption? Busy, I'll call you later

People say, "let's end corruption". But how can it be? Our life is stressed out! Work, family, loneliness and relationship issues. Adding to this is a thick topping of unemployment and terrorism. Phew! We also need some entertainment and some rest. When the broom is dirty, how can it clean the room? If we are the change agents, we are the brooms cleaning the room. And clearly we are too crowded with other dust. The problem is not the room, it is the unclean broom.

Anna Hazare movement's ineffective social presence

The great Indian social media movement, the modern Gandhi, and the greatest Indian anti-corruption movement faded away into oblivion. Sad. Where did Anna Hazare disappear? Technology is integrated and interacts with media. One of the prime reasons for the first phase of Anna Hazare movement was social media . Despite that it was ignored by Team Anna in maintaining constant buzz with the youth and adult population that use social media. The pen is still mightier than the sword, but the slates have changed. It is as if the pen is no longer being used to express on the slate of social media. The diminishing nature of leadership and strategic failure in maintaining a connect with the general population has eventually led to perceptions of defeatism about Team Anna. Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare & Social Media - Difference of opinion

While Anna Hazare's fasting won so many supporters including Indian social media users and celebrities, Baba Ramdev found little support from contemporaries. Moreover, the government needs to criticized for taking a violent and forceful approach to this peaceful revolution. Coincidently, the crack down of Delhi Police on Baba Ramdev (also called "the midnight drama") happened on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square.

Anna Hazare wins over IPL on Social Media

Although there has been a lot of contemplation that Anna Hazare's popularity ( India's first social media revolution ) will reduce once IPL begins, the results have been quite mixed. Looking at the world wide search trends, Anna Hazare's presence has been approximately 40% more than the search volume of IPL 4 till now. But as expected IPL's popularity increased and Anna Hazare's search popularity reduced since IPL began. The adage that "public memory is too short" has been proven again. The masses have given their vote to IPL 4 but interestingly the news reference volume of Anna Hazare has been much more as compared to IPL 4, which is encouraging. It is quite against the general opinion that journalists have sold the news out to corporates or politicians (especially more after the Nira Radia, Barkha Dutt and Vir Sanghvi scandal). To go deeper into "why" the news reference volume of Anna Hazare hsa been high and are they showing him in a positive ...
