Big Money, big lesson

Today might go down in history as a day when big big money was spent on a select few while others were trying to live on 100($14.63) yuan a week . Freddie and KP managed to fetch $1.55 million each for 3 weeks of work. Recession, salary cuts, millions of job losses,US stimulus package debate...Err Is this true ??? But the bigger set back was for the pup(Michael Clarke). He was reserved for a base price of $1 million, which Mr IPL (IPL chief commissioner-Lalit Modi) said nobody was willing to offer . So to avoid humiliation pup (future Australian captain) decided to rest, atleast for the media. Now thats what I call a hay day layoff and a high ego. Anyways unemployed youth like me are more than happy to write about such tea time gossip. The western world meanwhile was bickering about the bail out stimulus package when Michael Phelps the marijuana swimmer got kellogged. IPL was giving money and Olympic champ was to have none of it. Kelloggs said that it would not renew the contract with...

Barack Obama's fitness chapter

Barack Obama is a classic example of a "good" politician and there are many things our Indian counterparts can learn from him. I wouldn't be going into the moral aspects. I was just surfing the internet when I found out a video of Barack Obama surfing with his family. The man is fit, healthy and has a fab body. He does not look like a muscle machine nor is he an over weight pig. The perfect person for the most stressful job in the world. A healthy mind in a healthy body is an adage our esteemed super heroes of Lok Sabha can learn from. The day after he won the presidential elections of 2008, he was back at the gym, getting in shape to reshape the world. Eat till you die

Yesterday, one of my uncles passed away. One of those numerous persons of my large extended family, who was close to my father and grandfather, but an unknown figure to me. On asking my parents about the cause of his death, they said, he had massive heart attack and within minutes he was no more. As a old (not very old though) person he was leading a particularly healthy and happy life with both his children settled and doing well. The incident shook me. A person who is watching TV, enjoying his meal, playing with his grandchildren, suddenly feels suffocated with a pain near his heart. The next day his is lying motionless on logs of wood. This sudden untimely death of my uncle made me look deeper into the heart attack death cases. Our parents in a bid to make us healthy make us addicted to a high calorie diet, our lifestyles seldom makes us exercise and the bad habits accrue this process towards a classic heart attack case. I am particularly scared after this incident. One fine day, en...

Do you remember me or just my number

We receive calls everyday on our mobile and the first thing we check is the number. Softwares have been developed that play different ring tones for different numbers. If the person calling is important, we don't waste time in pondering over, but if unknown or weakly related, we might cancel it. This trend is for everybody and it is correct too. After all our time is precious. We are hard working people and we need time to work, rest and do other stuff. To add to our woes are the beleaguered calls from tele marketing agencies who have managed to get hook of our number. This commercial use by advertisers has lead to believe that an unknown number could bring a known or an unknown nuisance. Happy news we seldom expect. There are people who need favours too. They are persistent and persuasive and will not let you live, sleep or enjoy your meal. They'll keep calling you. This number id system of a person has made man using the phone itself commercial. There used to be days when pe...

Malaria has hit Mumbai hard in the last few days, with the death toll rising and adding another 4 in the span the last 24 hours. The water clogging has rains have given rise to water borne diseases in mumbai. “This is because there is water stagnation at most construction sites there,” Dr. Thanekar, the chief executive health officer said. In India when such a calamity strikes, then only the government authorities act. They keep sleeping rest of the time. Over all death toll: 26 Malaria has taken 26 lives in the last 48 days since the first showers and the overall monsoon-related death toll to 54 since June.
