Innovation

And now TATA group comes up with a Rs 1000 water purifier. The journey from Rs. 1L (TATA Nano) to Rs. 1K (Swach) hasn't been a journey of low cost, but a journey of innovation. When we talk in a group, our voice is heard if we talk something new aka innovate. Take for instance the case of Amitabh Bachhan; he has to be innovative not because he is in a creative field, but because being ahead requires you to innovate. Amitabh's core competency was that of an angry young man. He has moved on and that is the reason he is still surving and going strong. As time passes by competition increases in each segment or competency and hence to stay ahead, there is a strong need to innovate. The greater effort we use in innovating, the faster we grow and get the beginners advantage. Had Sachin Tendulkar not reinvented himself according to the changing needs of one day cricket, I doubt he would have survived for too long. M S Dhoni too has also innovated his batting to suit h...

Nano car, Big presence - Nanomics

Small Car, Big Idea: Tata Motors have announced that within two years Nano will travel to U.S. By 2011 it is all set to reach European market. The price of the car would be approximately $2,300, according to a reuters report . The Tata Nano got an overwhelming response despite all the criticism on environment, traffic and load on natural resources. Now let us imagine that all of us who own big cars send our car to an exchange chamber, pay its one time rent($2,300), and get a nano. Now I'm saying an exchange chamber because all of us can drive one car at a time. The big car that we are driving today will shine in our parking lot and Nano will power us through. The beauty of Nanomics is that we are paying less for the fuel, maintenance and also saving our time. Nanomics has some drawbacks too. The exchange chamber does not melt the existing resources, such as the body of your car. The pressure on natural resources will be there and considerable fuel will be spent on making the car. P...

Web 3.0 and Tata Nano

web 2.0 to 3.0 might have just taken place with many companies using the free and effective medium of web to promote their product globally. Banner ads, TV ads and couple of other sources including radio might give an edge but a stiffer competition to these rather costly sources comes from the free media of web. The recent Tata Nano web site is such an example where the team of Tata Nano will connect through the interactive 2 way media of social networking. According to wikipedia of web 2.0 Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities, hosted services, and applications; such as social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies. I'd say the third generation of web has just arrived where corporates are spreading their brand through practically free media of web 2.0. Tata Nano updates through orkut, facebook or email is an indicator of how an iconic product already popular because of its uniqueness can turn into a revol...

Taj reopens after terror attacks

My eyes were numb and my heart was all praise for the brave as the mist of bullets, confusion and horror settled over India’s chilliest winter days in the recent years. As the smoke rose above I could see red in eyes of red in my mirror, my country. I wish I had the sword and courage to go take revenge, but I didn’t, I wish I had the power, luck and determination, I didn’t. All I had was anger, distrust that blinded me in my own room my own land. With me were those who came out on streets and lit the candles of faith, candles of unity, candles of peace, as the truth with its sweaty fabric of red stains showed us the dim light to go ahead. Today those candles still light like the endless sun, burning till we get justice. A step taken forward have healed the wounds but the scars still remain as the royalty and pride stands high asking the world to come, sit, have a cup of coffee and watch the long shadows by the evening sun as the waves caress the shores of a wounded city. Reopening of ...
