Perseverance and Belief - Satya Nadella's email to employees on first day as CEO

S atya Nadella's story as Microsoft's CEO is a story of perseverance and belief. There are many things that can be learnt from his email by all young people having ambitions to lead a big organization or become a successful entrepreneur. Here are a few excerpts from his email to Microsoft employees at his first day as CEO.

Unhappy with your job? DON'T write a blog

I've come across two unhappy employees who left their organizations and wrote about it that was published in top news websites and blogs. Recent one is about Max, an unhappy ex-Microsoft employee who was fired for being rebellious. He writes on TechCrunch , "There is no creative tension, no vision these days. Left to Microsoft’s hands we’d still be toiling on overheating Vista desktops. They called it out in my performance reviews: I lacked “respect for authority.” “Microsoft people are well-tenured,” said my boss once. Many employees are with Microsoft for 15 years or more. The search war has heated up as finally a competitor to Google's search will finally be out in the open. Google, the world's top brand with a brand value exceeding $100 billion is gearing up for its first fight in the search arena. There have been critics (whom I admire) who have tried to be (as always) Google disciples and have rejected Bing. The part that impresses me is that Microsoft has shown up the courage to stand up to the search behemoth and say " Hey Beware!!! We are coming ".Not many can do that. The second and the most important thing will be what they are offering. Looking at the initial presentation, Microsoft Bing looks impressive. The decision engine i.e. Microsoft's Bing is evolvin...
