Prabhakaran family dead : A matter of Re-terror

Prabhakaran and L.T.T.E's era has ended in a manner, which probably wasn't in the best interest of all. The man who was responsible for the assasination of a Prime minister now along with his family bites the dust in unmarked locations in a mass grave. The family of whom he killed still lives to see his fate and wield power and authority. The death of prabhakaran and his family certainly raises many eyebrows, giving indications to a theory that he may have been shot at a point blank range. The bodies of his family have still been under the wraps to prevent any outburst. The logic behind anhilating LTTE and destroying all signs of its leaders may be to prevent re-emergence of the outfit in future. The cost of it is something that needs to weighed in the humanitarian crisis emerging out of such an action. Freedom for one may be terror for another. Although my knowledge of history is not very strong, Ritam Banati in his article, The Rajiv India Knew writes The LTTE was scared that...

Double strike

These days are probably the best for Sonia Gandhi and her family. The landslide victory of the congress in the Lok Sabha Polls of 2009 and the death of Vellupillai Prabhakaran, LTTE chief, the plotter of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, bring double joy along with winds of hope. A stable government at center paved the way for a sky rocketing stock market, a feature common since 1984. Another common feature of the congress government has been the long-term decline of stock market. The BJP victory in 1999 was followed by a 13% decline in the market, but rose in long term. A further introspection into the results of this election makes me believe that the opposition i.e. BJP will have to work very hard to come back to power. The congress despite a clear mismanagement of India’s security made it through. The Indian voter has gone for the secular ploy and given the congress another chance. Even after 26th November attacks on Mumbai, controlling the CBI for its own purposes and Sky-high food pr...

Israel and India on terror

Israel bombed the Gaza strip for the fourth day today killing over 300 people in Gaza. Hamas had ended the cease-fire with Israel after they fired rockets over Israel. Israel’s general has indicated that they are going for an all out attack to capture the Gaza strip. Hamas (terror threat), the largest party now faces oblivion at the hands of Israel. India faces an Israel like situation today. If Hamas dictates terms LeT and JuD and its leaders do the same in Pakistan. Pakistan indirectly has kept attacking India, but our reaction has been soft after a certain point. I have no reason to believe that government of Pakistan is actually interested in uprooting terrorism. Their only motive as of now is to gain political advantage. This was very evident from Imran Khan’s reaction on India needing to give substantial proof on Ajmal Kasav. I am not in favour of war, but the way this war hysteria has been created by Pakistan without any provocation (when our defense minister said against it) ; ...

Nokia Maps, Kashmir and Pakistan

Nokia Maps, a feature of the Nokia GPS phones (Also known as Navigators), have made a blunder by showing Kashmir a part of Pakistan. Nokia is one of the most trusted mobile phone brands of India and has risen in popularity because of its easy interface. I too use a Nokia Navigator phone and it has been essential in navigating me to unknown places in Delhi and Mumbai. Nokia Maps is a software that uses the GPS receiver of your GPS enabled phone and helps you show directions, and virtually guides you through every lane. The designers of Nokia have done a fabulous job as far as the technology is concerned but they have gone wrong with the facts of Kashmir. The reactions to this mistake have also been over the top. BJP protesters raided a NOKIA store in jabalpur and set it on fire. I am pro-BJP person, but I think such violent reactions are just not needed. We live in a civilized society and we should behave accordingly and not like hooligans on the street. Destroying hoardings and burni...

Yahoo techie in terror net

Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, age 31, working as principal software engineer at Yahoo earning around Salary 19 lakhs per anum. He goes to work, is highly respected and his parents are proud of him. But there is a deep dark hidden side to this techie. He apart from his normal work is upto something. Something, only his dark shadow knows, which follows him to the workstation he uses for carrying out work that even god would have not thought of. One fine day, things are not as normal. The darker shadow is still supporting him in his act of crime. He is a part of a big chain that will be responsible for killing innocent people struggling to keep pace with life, and not even half as successful (professionally) as he is. The dark hour arrives when a series of bombs rip apart the flesh of innocent people, powerful enough to blow away the life out the mortal bodies of people. He has done his job. Waking up to the intensity of the blasts is the Indian police, intelligence and a host of other agencie...

Bomb blast at Marriott in Pakistan : Terror leaves nobody

Terror spares nobody, is what the blasts in Islamabad at the J W Marriott have shown to the world. It does not depend whether you are a Hindu or a Muslim, an Indian or a Pakistan national, till the time someone supports it, it’ll stay. It was India first, now it is Pakistan. There were a lot of Pakistani bloggers who said, “Long live Indian Mujahideen”, now at-least they know; there is no glory to it. It is only an agonizing pain, which will last for a last time. The bomb that has claimed lives of over 40 people till now is believed to have made a 20 feet crater. My commiserations to the families of all those who’ve lost a member and to those who’ve been injured by the explosion. The pain and agony is like that felt by king Lear in Shakespeare‘s play, when he is shown the door by his two daughters. Similar is the story of two nations, who are alike, still enemies, still fighting, lost causes, lost in the storm of ego, power and arrogance. There is a greater enemy, destroying both of us...

M C Sharma's death won't go in vain

M C Sharma, a cop died in the encounter in Jamia Nagar in South delhi, days after the blasts that took lives of over 22 people in Delhi. His efforts I feel have gone in vain as redients of Jamia Nagar shouted slogsns against the police, claiming that the encounter was fake. What the Fk! A cop gives his life for something fake. Muslims of that area say their religious place was targetted. In this war against India, why do we always divide ourseleves on the basis of religion. Why don't peole realize that the person dying is an Indian, a human. He can be Hindu or a Muslim. This is an attempt by the people of those countries who don't want to see us prosper. We have to unite in this troubled time, salute those who have given their lives for the cause, a stand firm against the conspirators.

Jamia Nagar encounter fake ?

A team of the Special Cell of Delhi Police killed two suspected terrorists in an encounter on Friday in Jamia Nagar area of South District in New Delhi. Tensions ran high in the Jamia Nagar locality of South Delhi as news of one religious place being transgressed reportedly by police, during the encounter with militants today. The house where militants were holed up lies very close to a religious place. Once firing stopped, large number of people thronged the narrow lanes of the area and shouted religious slogans. "We are all against terrorism, then why was our religious places places targeted," said one of the residents. source:IBNlive,PTI

Pakistan troops open fire again

The Centre has reacted strongly to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control today. “Ceasefire violations by Pakistan are unacceptable,” said Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma. “We’ve conveyed our concerns to Pakistan,” he added. Earlier in the day Pakistani troops targetted Nowshera sector in Jammu and Kashmir and fired six mortar shells. Pakistani forces resorted to intermittent firing of mortar shells in Jhangarh area of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district for 45 minutes from 0640 hours, defence spokesman Lt. Col S D Goswami said. Indian troops exercised restraint and did not retaliate, he said, adding there was no loss of life or damage to property in the shelling. The questions in my mind are Why are we not counter attacking them ? Shouldn't we attack when they fire shells at us ? Till what time will this continue ?

Asaram Bapu supporters attack media

The mob of ashram inmates targeted the media on 18th july 2008 for filming the shots of them, thrashing people in the roads. Television crew of several news channels were attacked outside the ashram by Bapu's followers as they waited for a scheduled press conference by him to clarify the Ashram's role in the death of two young boys, Abhishek Vaghela (11) and Dipesh Vaghela (10). On July 5, decomposed bodies of two boys were found on the banks of Sabarmati near Sardar Patel stadium, about 2.5 km from Asharam Bapu Gurukul in Motera, Gandhinagar, where they were enrolled in Class V and VI respectively. The boys were reported missing by the Gurukul authorities a few days before their bodies were found. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on 19 ordered an inquiry into the incident after media groups demanded an inquiry. Read
