India England : Round 1-India wins

The round 1 of the seven match India England matches was played at Rajkot. It was a extra-ordinary performance by the Indian team as the batting battery powered the 158 run success over the visitors. Yuvraj Singh, much like the Salman Khan of Yuvraaj was facing tough time even more since his peers including Dhoni,Gambhir and sehwag had simply overshadowed him. Although he may claim, he had nothing to prove to anybody, he still has to prove himself as a senior responsible player of the Indian team, complementing it with tests, now since Sourav Ganguly has vacated a spot.

The game was truly a class magnum opus of batting and team work, with the team after being given a jet start with the consistent pair of Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. They now remind me of the days of glory of Sachin and Ganguly, when as a child I watched them crushing the opposition.

Still six more to go. Kevin Pietersen, will have to regroup his team for the round-2 of the battle of this 7 match series.
