Monday morning resolution

I am dedicating this week to peace, love and freedom. These 3 words can transform your life. But please don't believe me or read this post for the heck of it.. Experiment with these 3 words, try them out once. Give them another chance. My work is fun and if you too wanna have it that way, follow my God's (John Lennon) words. People at work frequently encounter bloated egos and greedy monsters waiting to back stab. Let me assure you they'll fade away like the evil that dies as the sun rises and you're that sun. There are good people too and you are one of them. Make your tribe. This may all sound too idealistic and you may call me another lame blogger, but your are free to do that. Go ahead. You and me following this funda is all on trust and thats why I said, just experiment. Don't do it blindly. I'd quote a few lines from John lennon's imagine, Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the pe...

How IPL became corrupt ?

Rabindranath Tagore is one of my gods, like one of the many you have in Hindu Religion. His saying fits in perfectly as to why IPL became corrupt. He said, " The danger inherent in all force grows stronger when it is likely to gain success, for then it becomes temptation. " The force here is the power of cricket and the flowing money. It slowly became temptation and many fell prey to it.As a wise man rightly said, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". Moving on to my second god, Oscar Wilde, he said, "I can resist everything except temptation". That probably holds true for those involved in the scandal. As far as I am concerned, it does not matter much to me. If they've made money illegally, I don't care since that money is not mine. I operate within the legal frameworks of the society so thats not my money. Consider my tax as charity to the underprivileged, consider it as a bet for upcoming projects and consider it as a sma...

Frankly speaking, I don't recommend you to be frank

Frankly speaking, I don't recommend you to be frank. What an advice. The self help books or tips to improve kind of books are the ones that give such "great" advices. They tell you to do things that the author's wouldn't themselves do. No great man wrote a book on "How to be great". No marketer gave  true  tips on good marketing. They simply did their job. Stop reading self help books. But in case you really want self help, read about great people, their work, their actions and their personality. Thats true self help. You can start from wikipedia. Type a leader, a popular person you admire, add "+ Wikipedia" and you'll get good description about their lives. Eg: Picasso + Wikipedia But yes if you want to oblige publishers, authors, distributors and retailers, go squander your hard earned money on "Self Help Books".

Friday traffic jams are less painful

I've been observing this trend in my behavior for the past two weeks. Although I am not very calm when I have to waste an hour or so daily in Traffic jams, the friday ones aren't so painful. The most painful traffic jams are those on Mon, Tue and Wed. Digging deeper, on Fridays you are quite enthusiastic of the coming weekend and the fri/sat night party. The enthusiasm acts like an anesthesia to the mental agony of a traffic jam. On the contrary, Monday's traffic jam can take its toll on the mind. It can be the most frustrating experience of the week. You know you've got a long day ahead, lots of meetings, presentations, a filled 'To do' list and 5 more days before your next weekend party. On top of that you've got on helluva car which is crawling because one stupid fellow rammed his truck last night, or two stupids are fighting in the middle of the road or one guy ahead of you drives as if he is drugged. Now thats serious frustration. This kind of frustra...

Never interrupt your BOSS when he is making a mistake.

Here is some advice. Although please note that I don't follow the advice I give. And you also don't follow it, it can be dangerous, in extreme cases fatal. Just pass it on. A quote from Napoleon Bonaparte reads, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake". I just modified it to "Never interrupt your BOSS when he is making a mistake" and here is the story. Never interrupt your boss when he is making a mistake, let him make it. Wait till you enjoy the forbidden pleasure of being correct. Enjoy the satisfaction of having the upper hand for those few moments when you feel wiser by acting ignorant and stupid to your Boss's mistake. And a few moments later when he has finished his talk, you can start by saying, "Sir, your idea is fabulous but... " And you've made your impression in the meeting. Now that calls for a grand party. BUT hey! You are not all that wise, you are stupid. The danger of interruption comes because, before ...

IPL Nights, IPL rights, IPL fights and UNITY!

I don't know whether IPL 4 will come or not but there are three things that interested me in IPL, the primary being IPL nights, the smokin hot parties. When I look at these parties, I sometimes complaint to god that why the hell did he not make me taller and broader. Basically all the knights aka cricketers aka greek gods (not all) come at one place. There are pretty looking ambitious females in the most basic of clothes who come to enjoy and there are filthy rich old pathetically looking people who come to capitalize on this union. The IPL night aka chemical reaction (biological rather) is facilitated by alcohol, music and crazy lights (or darkness). Some reactions take place and the knights get refreshed and some don't and they still get refreshed remember vitamin A. Some raiduchandamamy in turn gets access to some clubs, which he wouldn't have probably dreamed of, old  money wickets get some bones and the rest like us get a lot of gossip. All this for a price ofcourse....

Steve Jobs and Porn

Do we like people telling us what to do or what not to do ? I certainly don't, unless I've asked for advice. Steve Jobs is doing his bit to keep porn off the iphone. He has taken the high moral ground. It is good, but a direct invasion into the choices of iphone users. He is simply behaving in a dictatorial manner using his power to control whether or not people watch porn on iphone. A customer of Apple Matthew Browing replied to Steve Jobs in an email saying, ' Unfortunately, I’m really starting to have a philosophical issue with your company. It appears that more and more Apple is determining for it’s consumers what content they should be able to receive.' - Techrunch Web is meant to be free. It is the web that is behind the meteoric success and popularity of Apple. The government of Apple although it seems has changed its ways. Its playing the mummy's role of Iphone users. Interestingly Steve's moral ground does not limit itself to iPhone. He has gone ...
